Splendor of the Seas~Pre-cruise luggage question

We will be arriving by train in Venice from Florence the morning of our cruise. Does anyone know if it will be possible for us to drop off our big suitcases at the embarkation area without checking in? We want to explore Venice before the cruise starts if possible. Or do you think we should check-in, drop our carry-ons in our cabin and go back outside? We will be arriving to the port around 11:30 AM. Thanks!

I have done three Meditterean Cruises and Splendor once out of Barcelona. On arrival to the ship is when you will drop off your luggage. If the line isn't long just go ahead and process in. At that time instead of going to your cabin just depart the ship. Better yet go and get a bit to eat and then depart the ship and explore the area. Tim
