gotksgirl Posted January 1, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2008 This might seem silly, but I was wondering if someone could post as to location on the ship that you walk on when you get on the Majesty at the Charleston port. As in which deck and location on that deck. I just want to get my bearings as soon as I board to find our cabin. Do you get to just find your cabin on your own or does someone show you to your cabin? If you have info on where you get off for the tenders, I would appreciate that as well! Thanks!
salty dingo Posted January 1, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2008 You should board onto the Atlantic deck, which is the lowest deck not comprised entirely of passenger cabins. This is where the purser's desk is, as well as the restaurants, shops, and some bars. From there you can take stairs or elevators up or down to your cabin. Someone will escort you to the cabin if you need assistance. To board, you walk up a long (2 stories high) ramp from ground level to the ship. There are few if any stairs. Passengers in wheelchairs have an alternate way to board on a lower deck, I think, via the crew gangway. The tenders are accessed from the deck which is near the water line. I can't remember which one it is - deck 2 maybe?
snipper2 Posted January 1, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2008 That's completely correct. The Atlantic deck is deck 5. Disembarking or tendering in ports is done on deck 2. Disembarking in Charleston is again on deck 5.
Susie51 Posted January 2, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2008 thanks for the info. We will have two in wheelchairs for our group.
snipper2 Posted January 2, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 2, 2008 I think wheelchairs embarked on deck 2. There's a killer, steep ramp that goes to deck 5.
