Barcelona Station

Recommended Posts

We will be visiting Barcelona later this year, we have visted the city before both on a cruise and as a day trip, however this time will be in port overnight.

Two questions:

1. Will we be able to get off the boat in the evening time we are scheduled to dock at 19:00 and will shuttle buses run to the dock gates ? I remember last time how big the port was - where would be the best places to maybe enjoy a few quiet drinks. Where would we be best to avoid - These places can be much diffrent of a night to daytime.

2. We want to visit Sitges down the coast - we can get there by train in about 30 minutes, what is the best way of getting to the station - is it walkable or would a taxi ride be advisable.

Thanks

The main station is Barcelona Sants and it is way too far to walk. The easiest would be a taxi. If the ship is running a shuttle it might take you to near a Metro stop and then you could go to Sants via the subway/Metro. Do verify that your train to Sitges departs from Sants.

UPDATE: Checked my Thomas Cook European Timetable and trains do indeed depart from Sants, pretty much every half-hour. See Timetable 664 if you have a copy.
