Post Cruise RV Rental

We are thinking of renting an RV in Anchorage after our Princess cruise. Any suggestions for RV camping between Anchorage and Denali?

Talkeetna has camping areas... an interesting little town you'll likely wish to visit anyway? We chose to overnight on public lands between Talkeetna and Denali since we wanted to be closer to Denali the next morning. If you don't have the Milepost, consider purchasing (or borrowing from your library) one for your trip. It is an invaluable guide if you plan to spend much time RVing.:)

Beyer's Lake Alaska State Park was a convenient stop for me. I also stayed at Eagle River Alaska State Park, great for day tripping Palmer/Anchorage.

If you want a commercial campground, there are a couple in Willow which is almost half-way to Denali

Got to watch what time of year with Byers Lake because it has a habit ofclosing later in the summer because of the fish and where there is fish there are bears. Even if they don't close it, they will post that there is bear activity.

 

The Nancy Lake Recreation Area has some great spots too. It's just this side of Willow.

we're heading up to the Wasila--Palmer area after picking up ur rig--we'll hit a grocery store to provision and then a campground to organize and do laundry after the cruise
