Rain??

On our last cruise we hit rain on and off all day. To be honest- it was so hot that when the rain started I just stayed out in it and let it cool me down. If it start raining really hard then everyone would run inside and I would find an empty chair undercover and take a nap on the pool deck! :D

The Cruise Compass is full of stuff to do, even if it rains. Many of the deck chairs by the pool are sheltered somewhat, so unless it's a really heavy rain, you may still be able to find a dry spot.

You can watch a movie, read a book, go ice skating (on some ships), play cards or games...whatever you would do at a hotel if it were raining. Interesting people always find a way to enjoy themselves.

If you're on a ship with a covered solarium you can still enjoy a nice swim and relaxing by the pool. Love the Radiance class solariums.....they have it all, the bar, pool, spa, food. Wish I were there right now. Sigh....

Don't forget the Vision class--that's 6 more ships for a total of 10 in the fleet that have lovely covered pool/Solarium.

This may be a dumb question but what do you do on the ship if it rains? I'm looking forward to hanging out by the pool and soaking up the sun and drinks, but what happens if it's pouring? I can't stay all day in the casino. I'd be broke before lunch.

After a nice breakfast, head to the casino, win about 500 hundred playing Blackjack, then head over and play Bingo. After winning a Free Cruise playing Bingo, you decide to go to the Champagne Bar to celebrate and sip a few drinks before heading to get some lunch at Johnny Rockets. While dancing with the Staff, a man in a black suite walks up to you and asks you to be on Dancin With the Stars. You accept.... Back to Champagne Bar for more celebrating and sip a few more drinks, back to the room and shower and head to dinner. ITS LOBSTER NIGHTt ...wohoo..... You are so full from eating three lobsters you go back to the room and pass out.... WOW WHAT DAY !!!!!!:D

DH & i just got off a 4 day on the SOS. Had the BEST time doing----NOTHING! It did not rain, but we spent alot of time in the Viking Crown Lounge. You can look out over the pool deck and catch all the happenings. We took a few board games with us (who knew it is harder to count after 2 marguiritas??!!) :p

Book a spa treatment, and treat yourself.

Sometimes on sea days, if they know there will be rain, they sail away from it, if it is possible.

We have been on the SOS twice, you will love it. It has the most friendly, fun crew and staff we have sailed with.

Have a great cruise, and remember, what you usually worry about never happens.

Gail :)

Haven't had too many rainy days. But, one time we were caught in a brief storm while in the hot tub. We all just stayed in it until the rain passed, a few minutes later!

It was fun to watch the folks all scrambling out of the Pool in the Solarium, when it showered. To avoid getting wet? Showers were brief and actually warm. :)
