We will be going on a tour with Courtney in Sept. Did you have a hard time finding him at the pier? I don't know how many ships will be in that day so hopefully it won't be too crazy. We are doing pretty much the same as you did. We also want to try some of the local food and shop for coffee and rum. Glad to hear you were very pleased with him.

It is private in a SUV w/ A/C clean. I think we always pay him like $20.00 a person & he takes us any where we want. courtney_tay@yahoo.com. We have used him numerous times & so have our friends no complaints. I hear great things about everyone in his family. I just prefer private & like him. We love Jamaican food so he took us to a local small spot for the best dumplings & jerk chicken. I do not like tourist places I only like small local spots. Of course we took Juicey Patties to go on the ship since we were too full from lunch.

After reading the great reviews about Courtney Taylor, our group of 8 reached out to him via e-mail. Courtney promptly responded with all the details we needed to plan our day trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

On Monday, August 2, Courtney met us in port, shortly after our we debarked from our cruise ship. He was dressed professionally, with a white shirt and black pants. His van comfortably seated the 8 of us, and it was air-conditioned!

Our first stop was the Dunn's River Falls, where we met Courtney's friend, Carlington. Carlington accompanied us the entire time we were at the Falls, ensuring we knew what to do. Courtney stayed with the van, so we felt safe leaving our bags in the van with him. We had a great visit to the Dunn's River Falls.

Next, we went to the Blue Hole Cliff to try cliff jumping. We saw a lot of Ocho Rios during the van ride to and from the Blue Hole. The cliff jumping was amazing, and the photos we took there are priceless.

We ended our day by visiting Courtney's neighbor, Patrick, and eating lunch at Patrick's ocean-front restaurant. We ordered jerk chicken and french fries. The food and atmosphere were phenomenal. Courtney stayed with us the entire time, patiently waiting on us as we enjoyed our lunch and played on the beach.

This was my first cruise experience, and I'm so glad we chose Courtney to guide us around Ocho Rios. When we go back, we'll definitely contact Courtney again. :-)

Courtney Taylor is awesome mon! I have cruised many times and taken many taxi rides, but none compare to the services provided by Courtney in Jamaica. We simply docked @ the port, asked for Courtney Taylor, and he was brought directly to us! For the entire day, he was willing to take us wherever we wanted, whenever we wanted, and offered wonderful suggestions along the way. Driving from one point to another, he was a very informative tourguide who answered any questions we threw at him. He introduced us to some wonderful people (Carlington and Patrick) and showed us all of the sites we wanted to see! We felt very priviledged to be accompanied by Courtney and will definitely book him again next time we are in Jamaica :)

We are in Ocho Rios in a couple of weeks and I am thinking of booking

Peat Taylor to drive us around. We want to go to Dunns River, Mystic Mountain and Blue Hole if we have time. Peat has quoted us a price (which is quite a fair price), my question is would it be just as easy to grab a taxi to transport us from place to place (there are 5 of us). Is it easy to get taxi's at these attractions?

Any advice is appreciated.

From the instant we came in contact with Courtney via email, we felt very well taken care of....

Courtney was waiting for us when we got off the ship. We let him know that we wanted a "cultural experience" that day. Well, he came through BIG TIME! courtney took us to dunns river falls 1st thing in the am, to avoid the crowds. After he drove us to a little known place called the blue hole. we met a young local man whos grandmother owns the property. The blue hole, is an absolutely gorgeous waterfall that you jump off into fresh water springs. At first i was a bit nervous, but the locals, ensured i would be safe. we then proceeded around town, through local village to meet his beautiful daughter! she was gorgeous. We then went to a local resturaunt, per our request called Lobster Daves. Dave catches the lobsters in the am, and prepares them "Jamaican style". We dont party, but lets just say... we got a contact buzz just from hanging out. Ironic, thier was a 1 armed Rastah man on the beach selling jewelry, his name is Desmond. The nicest guy you wanna meet. His family lives in MY HOMETOWN!!!! I promised him I would let them know he was safe, and i did. Check out his wares... all hand made and beautiful.....

Courtney held the umbrella everywhere we went, and treated my gf like a princess. He courted her, and made sure we were all safe. It was a long day, and we asked courtney to bring us in town to look at some souvenirs before we went home. He didnt tell us that they also sell the BEST jamaican beef patties in the world there! lol Courtney literally escorted us right to the security gate to get us back on the ship. we never felt once in harms way with Courtney. He kept us away from the annoying vendors too! We are planning a return trip to jamaica next year, and courtney will be the first to know........ without hesitation, Courtney earns his reputation as Jamaicas best personal tour operator.... his email is courtney_tay@yahoo.com or you can find him on facebook too. Good luck.

We will be using Courtney in Oct. What is a must see? There will be 9 of us, 7 adults, 1 15 yr old and 1 10 yr old. We don't want to do Dunns' River Falls. Courtney said he could take us to see a Botanical Gardens, take us up in the mountains, and a rain forest. What else is good?

We were in Ochos Rios in August 2010. We had planned to book an excursion through the ship, but they were really expensive. After reading about Courtney Taylor, we felt safe about reserving his services for the day. He took us to all the best spots....waterfall climbing, cliff jumping into blue hole, rainforest, shopping, lunch, and beach. We did all of this in one day for only $20 each. Courtney told us all about the area and made sure we were safe everywhere we went!

I just booked with Courtney for my upcoming cruise! How much did you pay the guide up DRF?

Hubby & I inquired for the blue hole, just wanted him for a few hours and was quoted $35/person plus $10 (each?). seemed a bit steep compared to what everyone else is quoting.. ($20/pp)

Also asked him a couple questions (is there bathrooms, how far away) and only received a generic letter.. So I'm a little cautious before before booking with a complete stranger. Thoughts?

Being that I cannot remove my previous post, I do want to set the record straight. I was dealing with multiple excursions and got my info switched. Courtney was the first one to respond *as himself & not a form letter*. So needless to say he's the one I'm going with. :)

He's been very accomodating despite my lack of communication due to personal resasons and I look forward to meeting him next week. :) Will also report after our excursion to let you all know how it turns out.

Travel safe!

Leeann you will have a blast we have been using Courtney for about 4 years now & he's great! His van is always clean & a/c works great. He is prompt, courteous, friendly. He is an island native so very informative. He has never let me down. Make sure to drive by & pick up some Juicy Patties best ever! They are super cheap too here in Miami they are $3.00 each US over their it came out to about .80 cents.

We were with Courtney and his friends on Sept. 8th. We did the Dunn River Falls first thing with his friend Carlington taking us to our guides and had the time of our lives. We bought the CD and every time we watch it we just laugh and remember the great time that we had. Afterwards we drove thru Fern Gulley and visited the spice lady and bought some spices from her and can't wait to try them. Then we went river tubing and had a great time doing that. After that we went to Mahogany Beach and met Patrick and had some drinks and the BEST jerk chicken EVER!!!! Then we were off for some shopping and bought some jamaican rum, coffee and a couple of watches. Courtney is top notch and the best and we can't wait to go back. Thanks Courtney for wonderful day!!:)

Great tour, highly suggest and recommend a tour with him. He lived up to everything we read here, heck we were even the first people into Dunn River Falls. So nice to not be there with 500 other people. He also took us on a drive up in the mountains and then down through the gully. He is flexible too, just ask for suggestions and he will make sure you have a good time.

Booked with Courtney for our 9/8/10 port of call in Jamaica. There were four of us in our party. Met Courtney after getting off of the ship and we were off to Dunn River Falls. Once there we met Carlington who took us down to the falls. My brother and sister-in-law could not climb the falls due to mobility problems (bad knees). The only thing I didn't like was that they had to pay $15 each to go into the area even though they weren't going to climb. Next we went through the rainforest and Fern Gully. Courtney then took us to a Bob Marley restaurant where we had lunch. Had a jerk chicken sandwich which was very good and the guys also had Red Stripe beer which they liked. We paid $25 a piece for the tour. Courtney is very knowledgable and tells you all about Jamaica. Carlington was great also and I really enjoyed his personality. Very nice tour and I would recommend it if you are having a stop in Jamaica. Hope to see you again Courtney & Carlington...Linda & Merritt from New York

Name of the Game as a frequent cruiser & member for many years now we can post our opinions regardless of positive or negative that is what the boards are for!

I've been using Courtney for 5-6 years now love him! He's respectful, prompt, accommodating, & reasonably priced. The entire Taylor family is wonderful. Everyone I have ever referred has always come back happy. So if you so not like that we feel this way too bad it is what it is! Great service deserves recognition!

I see that YOU have been a member for many years but the other 11 I speak of have not. It's highly suspicious that all these posters join CC solely to praise this tour operator.

The spam (first time) posts are really unfortunate because Courtney really is a great tour guide and comes highly recommended. All of the spam posters make him seem suspect though. In the end, they just aren't even necessary because he could stand on the good reviews of long time/frequent posters alone.

BTW -- had a great tour with Courtney and Carlington on 9/9/10. Would definitely recommend him and use him again. What the others have said about his recommendations and his flexibility is completely true. He is a gentleman and takes care of his passengers, ensuring that they are as happy as can be.

My husband and I booked with Courtney last year and had an amazing time. we felt safe and well taken care of. He made sure we enjoyed our stay in his country. We are going back this fall and of course will be traveling with Courtney again. There is no way to go wrong with him.

I have been a member for 5 years but never seem to find the time for 1000 posts a year like you do. I am guessing you are a self appointed moderator or something. I am so sorry some first time posters have kept you awake at night. I chose to do a tour with Courtney from reading reviews on here and it was just as decribed.

BTW I would highly suggest doing a tour with Courtney if you ever have time to actually take a cruise when you arn't being the message board police.

Yeah, like a Block Watch is the police. I am so sorry some first time posters have kept you awake at night. Where did he say that? I chose to do a tour with Courtney from reading reviews on here and it was just as decribed. Good for you.

BTW I would highly suggest doing a tour with Courtney if you ever have time to actually take a cruise when you arn't being the message board police. Since this person posts so much like you claim, I recall that he has been on several cruises.

Maybe you need a cruise to chill out.
