Excursion Question

From Bahamas.com - After a 25-minute boat ride through the crystal clear waters of Nassau Harbour, you'll arrive at a tranquil little island named in revere of the most feared pirate to ever visit the Caribbean, Edward Teach, a.k.a. “Blackbeard.”

During the day, you can sunbathe in a lounge chair, let the satin-like sands run through your toes, and the tantalizing waters caress your body. Or, relax to the sounds of island music while enjoying a beverage at the island's two bar facilities. The famous “Bacardi Beach Bar” has a friendly bartender waiting to serve you.

There is fun for the whole family, including a first-class "Stingray Adventure Program" guaranteed to put a smile on everyone’s face. We also have a fully stocked souvenir store, volleyball and basketball for playful competitions, spacious air-conditioned restrooms, freshwater showers and kitchen facilities.

The first-class "Stingray Adventure" takes place in a park located on the island, and is guaranteed to put a smile on everyone’s face. In this program, guests are given a briefing on the animal, they then enjoy a swim and snorkel, with all necessary equipment included. A scheduled feeding takes place, where each guest has personal contact with the Southern Atlantic Stingrays. A first glance may be startling, but you will be awed by their grace and beauty. The stingrays glide all around guests and feed right out of their hands!

We also did this in August. It was fine - couldn't beat the price. 2 families went: myself, dh, dd19/16, BIL and his 2 kids 6/7. It is hard to find an excursion that takes kids that young, so we booked this one. You take the boat to the beach - yes, it is about 25 min. long. Get off, go down a pier. To the left of the pier is an enclosed area with plenty of stingrays - you put on a vest, and just wade in. They were all over us - literally knocking our feet out from under us. The kids loved it. You could take a picture with a stingray - $10 - nice souveneir. Go to the right off the pier, and there is a decent beach - plenty of lounge chairs. Lunch was a cafeteria line/choice of hotdog, burger, or grilled chicken, with a bag of chips and a can of soda. We had a nice day. Was it fantastic and spectacular - no , but it was fine for our needs, and we had great weather. What else could you ask for?
