vacruzer007 Posted February 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2008 Hello! I am booking a my first cruise with RC aboard the Mariner of the Seas Eastern Caribbean. Any insights to this ship would be greatly appreciated. I've cruise with Carnival aboard the Imagination and Fantasy, do they even compare? I wasn't impressed with the Imagination at all, the ship was small, the dining room even smaller and there wasn't enough to do. Is the Mariner an older ship? any feedback will help :)

You just can't compare Mariner with the Imagination or Fantasy because they aren't even in the same class. Mariner is must bigger {138,000 tons}. You will have a Great Cruise.;)
cb at sea Posted February 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2008 Voyager class is my favorite! Never really feels "crowded" despite the size!
DonnaK Posted February 11, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2008 The Mariner is the newest of the Voyager-class ships. It's about 4 years old.

Only tip i can give you is watch which deck you stay on the lower decks are split because of the ice skating rink. In other words you have to take certain elevators to your room. If you take the wrong one, you will have to go back up cut across the casino and then go down again. that was my only gripe because it seemed like we were always on or near the wrong elevator. Have a great time!
cruzincurt Posted February 11, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 11, 2008 We've been on Fantasy twice in our early years, the Mariner twice in recent years. There is no comparison. The Fantasy is a cruise ship on training wheels, the Mariner on steroids.
