vickie_bernie Posted March 14, 2008 Author #51 Share Posted March 14, 2008 Great info! Thank you! :) After they escorted you and the rest of the B2B people thru immigration ... could you go directly back to your cabin? yes, as we had the same cabin for both cruises... I have read elsewhere that if you have a different cabin you need to pack up but they will move your stuff. Not sure when the cabin would be ready in that case. I went to the cabin, grabbed my camera and took some pictures of some of the suites as this may be the only time they allow me in one of them without paying for one. vickie_bernie Posted June 30, 2008 Author #52 Share Posted June 30, 2008 Yes, we're friends with Irishjayne. I really want to go on that cruise in November, but right now i'm tied up in "major food" negotiations. I work for Safeway. So depending on how they go and if there is a labour dispute, I'll probably just take a chance and wait until September and see how it goes. We're going on a 6 day coastal cruise on the Goldon the 3rd of May, so I plan on buying some more cruise credits. I used mine up for the b2b on the Emerald next Jan:D did you guys settle? I know Save on Foods is also in negotiations. And I see you are sailing with us. We can discuss the excursions we did on the Emerald when we are on board the Star in four months
senior lady Posted June 30, 2008 #53 Share Posted June 30, 2008 Vickie, Nobody has settles yet. Save-On has a mediator for tomorrow morning. If that doesn't work, then I imagine that there will a strike. Safeway is just sitting back waiting to see what happens. I don't think we'll get serious at the table until this is settled with Save-On. We're really looking forward to the November cruise. We cancelled our Emerald cruise in Jan, as our cancelled Australia/South Pacific cruise came up again. We're booked on the Star for October 24th for a 30 day Sidney----LA cruise:D That is going to be our "retirement" cruise!!!!

Too bad about the Emerald cancel but heck that cruise on the Star sounds devine!!! And what a way to retire. I aiming for a world cruise when I retire, but I still have too many years left to start counting! What side of the bargaining are you on? Company or union? I know I've been watching the Save On bargaining as I am always interested in labour negotiations. But from a union side.
