Drive from Mobay to Negril Beach

The RCI excursion booklet says that the drive is approximately 50 minutes however I've read posts that say it's 1 1/2 hours away. Has anyone driven from Montego Bay to Negril Beach lately?

closer to the 1hr 1/2......and I would not recommend driving. They actually have a sign posted with how many car accidents they have. It is very scary even with the locals driving that know the roads. They are very windy, go extremely fast and just as a passenger you pray. You will never make it driving on your own...Please trust me on this one !:)

We did the drive last week. Hour and 15 minutes (Left Mobay early on a Sat morning...No traffic). Coming back the following Sat in the afternoon took a little longer. We have many new Negril pics in our Webshots folder.
