Jan too cold to cave tube in Belize??

I really really want to tube in Belize but the only time we can go is in Jan. Will the water be too cold? We sailed to the Bahamas in Jan and the water was pretty chilly. Anyone with first hand experience??

We have went in April and it was very hot outside. The water was VERY refreshing. From what I undestand Belize does not generally get too cold in the winter months.

If we had the opportunity to give this a try in January - we would take it up.

I did the tubbing on a Dec cruise and the water was great. Temps were in the mid 80's. Jan. should be just fine there. Have a great time. Tubbing was so much fun!!!!

We were in Belize in January and the water was wonderful. Not cold at all. Go and have a great time!!

Thanks for the link, JJF....Is there any whitewater or is it just a gentle float? We are whitewater kayakers and are looking for an little adventure.:) Is the scenery awesome? Please share any details....thanks! We have been to Xel-Ha and are wondering if it is similar to that.

We went cave tubing in January and had a great time. The air temp was warm and humid and the water felt chilly at first, but we got used to it quickly. I am warm blooded so never got cold, but those who tend to chill easily will be affected by the cool water temps after a while.

staylor, the Belize cave tubing is more of a gentle float with some minor rapids here and there. River conditions, however, vary widely depending on recent rainfall. Scenery includes jungle and caves (along with all the cave formations--stalagtites, etc.) It is dark in the caves and you are given a minor's light to see. Without the lights, it is pitch black in places. Kind of creepy, yet cool.

We loved caved tubing and Belize--it was a true adventure.

we went jungle river tubing in Belize at the beginning of Feb. and the air was warm. water was cool at first, but you got used to it fairly quick.
