meet and greet question

I am wondering how to plan a meet and greet party. Has anyone done this before. Will carnival help with this? We are traveling on the September 22nd cruise this year out of NYC

It depends on how fancy you want to get. We are leaving next Saturday and on our board a few of us started talking about it and we are planning on meeting for a sail away party of our own. I did up some very simple Roll Card signs which I emailed to those that wanted to have them. We set a time of right after muster, picked two spots on deck to meet in case one was crowded and that's it. I don't know if Carnival will help you or not. Good luck and happy cruising!

Agree. Communication with your roll-call thread friends will get it done. Our roll call has 2 set up. First is just after muster but many of us can't do it so we came up with a 2nd muster which is the first sea day at 10am in Atrium and we all know what to look for (JonJon with his blue scooter:D ). I don't think Carnival will help you arrange anything but I guess if it was a big group or something, maybe they would.

This last cruise we all met at 3 o'clock, before the muster drill, which seemed to work better than past cruises when we met after the muster drill.

We also had a private cocktail party on our first sea day. You need to contact the Wedding Department, and they will send you the information to plan one. It was $11.44 per person, all your drinks (they bring around the tray of drinks, or you can order from the bar) and dry snacks for 1 hour. It has to be prepaid. I prepaid for fewer people then has said they were coming (we had 63 adults signed up), and collected at the party. And then if extras came, Carnival put the extra on my S&S account. You can also have everyone prepay you (which I recommend, I spent too much time collecting the money and didn't get to visit with everyone as much as I would have liked), you don't have to pay Carnival until about two weeks before you go. People did bring their children with them, but there are no beverages for them, and of course no charge.

It was great, they assigned us a lounge, and at the end we had a group picture taken.

I was on the Valor with Gayle, and she did a fantastic job getting the cocktail party organized for us! Thanks again, Gayle!! :D

The only bad thing about the organized party is that it is only one hour, and we weren't ready to end our fun yet. A group of us did continue in the lounge area next to the casino. I would advise that you have a second location ~ one of the lounges or something ~ picked out to go to for anyone who wants to keep the party going. Let everyone know ahead of time.

It's always good to have more than one Meet & Greet set up so that folks who can't make it to one may be able to come to the other. The 3 pm Aft Pool Bar area has worked really well on my last 2 cruises. Good luck! :)
