I put a 12 day cruise on hold. Was told on phone deposit is 450 / person, email says 480/person because I am paying in Canadian. With the dollar almost equal this makes no sence. Also Cancellation insurance can't be bought with Rccl because I am Canadian? Any comments

Can't speak to the difference in deposit $$, but as far as insurance is concerned, IMO you're better off getting insurance from an outside source than RCI. We've found better coverage and better rates. Check "insuremytrip.com" . You can get comparisons of cost/coverage from a number of different insurers.

Insuremytrip.com works a little differently for Canadians. Most of the options require that you buy it within 48 hours of making your first deposit. You will get some options that allow it after that time, but not nearly as many as they get in the US.
