Skagway/Haines Ferry

How do I find out the schedule for this ferry? I tried deciphering the Alaska Marine Highway schedules to no avail.

 

What all is there to do in Haines?

 

We are renting a car in Skagway and driving to Emerald Lake and back. We are in Skagway for a long time and I wonder if going over to Haines is worthwhile. If so, do we take or leave the car?

You don't want to use the state ferry, you want to drop the car and take the fast-cat, which docks downtown - http://www.chilkatcruises.com/. If you really want to see Haines, that is - there's lots to do in Skagway.

Any other way/ferry to get to Haines from Skagway? I checked the schedule on your link and we will be there on Sunday - the times won't work for us.

Nothing practical - fly, or drive 350-odd miles (one-way).

I've flown, works out great since it's a short flight and not overly costly.
