Celebrity Transfers

We have never used transfers through Celebrity, we have always used taxis and private tour companies.

We are sailing out of Venice in July. Could anyone give me their experiences on using Celebrity transfers?

I know there are less expensive ways to go (bus, taxi) but it is the beginning of a long vacation and I have had to make many other plans for each port of this trip. We are a family with 3 children, so it would be nice to go the easy way.

Could anyone please tell me how they have made out with Celebrity transfers, out of Venice or elsewhere?

Thank you!!!

We used the X tranfer from the Venice airport to the ship and it worked out very well. It was efficient and speedy. We never saw our luggage again until it was in our cabin. We felt it was easier than using a taxi or a bus.

We have always used Celebrity transfers and have been pleased with them, finding it easy, safe and efficient.

We used Celebrity transfers, even from Fort Lauderdale Airport to the pier...in the days before we started arriving in Fort Lauderdale a day in advance. It was nice to be met at the bottom of the escalator, taken to luggage retrieval and escorted to the transfer bus. I also realize that a taxi might be less expensive.

We also used Celebrity air and transfers from Heathrow to our London Hotel and Hotel to Dover for our Baltic cruise, and then, returning, from Dover to Heathrow.

It was nice to take the easy way out, in a city that we were unfamiliar with. We were pleased with the transfers...even though, from London to Dover, our brand new driver got lost at the Port of Dover, and we actually entered an area that required our passports to go to France! But eventually, we got to Constellation. I think that if you are concerned about using taxis, or other vendors of transportation, then, for worry-free travel, the transfers are the way to go. They may be somewhat more expensive, but there are no worries.

 We used Celebrity Transfers to get from Heathrow to Southampton for the Summit cruise on 4/28.

They are the easiest way to go.

They are expensive compared to alternatives (almost to the point of being a rip off - We paid $82 per person, bus or train on our own would be $25).

Service was poor. We waited over an hour in the airport after we had our baggage and checked in with Celebrity, then had to shuttle over to another terminal to pick up passengers even though there were more than enough passengers to fill our bus. Crazy.

Then we waited forever for our luggage to show up in our room. Actually had to go search the ship for two pieces we eventually found in a stair well. Would have thought they could have done that better given we checked the bags into Celebrity's care at the Airport!

Personally, I would spend the extra effort and find an alternative. We did our own on the last 3 cruises (Seattle, Amsterdam, Athens) and it worked better and was considerably less expensive.
