what can you tell me about internet access on the Rhapsody?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

A guy I know is going on the Alaska roundtrip Seattle cruise on the Rhapsody. He hopes to be able to keep with email for the time he's away. What can you all tell me about the connection speed on this ship? And any good options for wireless access ashore for the port days.

Thanks in advance for any and all!

The onboard computers were okay, not superfast, but had a decent connection speed. I had troubles getting connected using my laptop in the wireless spots, so I just used their computers. FYI, there is one computer in the back right corner of the internet cafe where the space bar doesn't work.

There are internet cafes in both Skagway and Juneau through Seaport Cyber. I believe the cost was something like $6 for an hour. In Prince Rupert, there is a restaurant called Breakers that offers free wireless internet access if he has his own laptop. From the pier, you walk to the left, and Breakers is a large blue building along the waterfront.
