Moving up from Princess: Silversea vs. RSSC?

My wife and I are considering changing our long-time Princess cruise habit to a more luxury line, now that our kids won't be cruising with us anymore (one off to college, and the other there by the time we can take our next cruise in 2010). Would love to hear opinions on Silversea (which is where we're leaning) vs. RSSC, or other lines.

We've loved Princess, especially with teenagers, but are tiring of the mass-market model: crowded, noisy pools; quality, but uninspired food, and middle-of-the-road service.

We can easily afford the luxury lines, and both of us enjoy exploring interesting ports, drinks & wine in the evening, quality music (jazz, classical, pop, standards, etc.), and relaxing with books & quiet on days at sea. We also recognize and appreciate quality services with attention to detail.

Looking forward to all your experiences & opinions!

You might want to post this on the Regent site. It gets a lot more traffic. Having cruised both lines, I like them both probably the same. I look for itinerary and specials. One major difference is that SS allows smoking in cabins, balconies, etc and Regent is no smoking.
