Which Catalina Island?

There is one in the Dominican Republic (just off the southern coast off the main island) <<<<

and there is one just off the coast of Los Angeles in California.

I think he's on to something and it's the former!

I just fired up Google Earth and took a look.

There it is, off the Soth coast of the big island of Hispaniola.

Easy to find!

On the Western edge of Catalina Isl. is a gorgeous bay

and the very first Panoramio pic I clicked on showed a Princess ship in the scene.

The third picture I clicked on showed a Costa vessel, so clearly this is a cruise ship destination!

Go take a look - it's a pretty place...all touristy with turquoise waters!

If it's the one in the Dominican Republic, then here are some pictures I took from my brief visit there:

It is a national park and it is very small. There is a beautiful beach and some lounge chairs set up. The best snorkeling and scuba diving in the DR are just a couple minutes boat ride off shore.
