Why did RCCL cancel this stop instead of Costa Maya?

We were disappointed to hear through the grapevine that we will now have 2 sea days instead of stopping in Progreso, this December, on the Voyager.

RCCL has not told us yet. Progreso has great shopping, cheaper than CZM and is a nice town with 2 markets.

Why didn't they cancel the manmade tourist trap of Costa Maya, instead? We wonder.

One would think that there maybe some reasons that the cruise industry wants Costa Maya to prosper.... MONEY.... The cruiselines have re-invested several million $'s to re-build CM and now need to re-coup their investment.... Lower or no docking fees and all the stores will now be even more indentured to the cruiselines will repay their investment nicely...
