Names of ships

The Carnival Destiny was the first to be named that way, and every ship since has had 'Carnival' as part of it's name.
I don't think that's true. I think the seventh and eighth Fantasy class ships came out after the Destiny, and did not have Carnival in it's moniker.

The Paradise and the Elation came out in 1998, and the Destiny in 1996?

I could be way off base here, but it could probably have something to do with promoting the company brand. By actually putting "Carnival" in the name they are differentiating their ships from the rest in the industry. Royal Carribean has done the same thing by adding "Of the Seas" to their ships names. Part of good marketing is building brand loyalty by making it easy for the consumer to identify and recognize your brand.

They did this to distinguish the brands of Carnival Corporation. Seabourn has the Seabourn Pride Legend etc and that is why they began to put Carnival in front of the actual name. Destiny started it as that was the largest of the world at the time built and it was Carnivals Destiny at the time of building
