Okay besides the lighthouse and the hikes, is there anything else that anyone has enjoyed that in Mazatlan?

The bf and I would like to soak up some of the historical architecture/sights near by. Any detailed info would be much appreciated.:D

We enjoyed taking a cab to the Old Town area - we first went to the cathedral - it was beautiful inside. We then walked down to the Plaza Marchado - we were there around 9:30 am and it was deserted and nothing much was open (best to go in afternoon-when the restaurants are open). However we went to fantastic store there - then took cab to the golden zone and went to the beach for a few hours. That way we got best of beaches, looking at the old town historical area and some shopping. Since our Cabo port was cancelled I'm very glad that we hit the beaches here

After the tram ride to the shops at the entrance to the pier, there is a booth that sells tickets on a tram going around the town, hitting all the highlights (and a jewelry store). It was around $20 for about 4 hours, but you could probably bargain. We enjoyed that for a change. There is also internet in that area. Nancy
