Hi,

Can anyone tell me if there is any major difference between the AE suite and the AC suite other than location on NCL. I have seen some pictures of both and they look the same to me.

It depends on the ship. Take the Sun , the AE and AC are very different..

Try the following link for some stats on the Star's cabin categories - not sure if they are accurate - but it would seem there is quite a bit of difference between the AE and the AC

AE - very back of the ship

AC - very front of the ship - larger balcony, larger room - restrictions on lighting in the evening as well as being on the balcony while sailing.

Thanks. The strange thing is that we were told that our AE suite doesn't have a minibar in it only an empty fridge and to get a minibar we would have to get an owners suite. We did get the larger 106 sq ft wrap around balcony though.

Not true . The fridge will have a mini bar and snacks just like a hotel. You pay as you go . The owners suite they refer to has free booze . And thats paid for 100 times over by the cost of the suite ;) Pay no attention to the reps on the phone , they know nothing at all ...

"You want answers " these boards are it ..

We are in 8170 with the wrap around balcony.

Just MHO, but stay where you are. There are people who LOVE being in the cabins Forward and those of us who love being in cabins Aft. I just don't want to chance the wind issues on the balcony our days at sea and I like having our balcony directly over the water (incase I have a really bad day in the casino and want to jump.. lol). There is nothing that compares to being Aft.. and you will LOVE that wrap around balcony. You can't really sit on the wrap around part.. there isn't enough room for a chair, etc, but it does have great viewing.

We aren't going anywhere now.We just got refunded the $100 difference between what we had paid and the sale rate, plus a $300 OBC. The NCL rep did say that we booked a very nice penthouse suite and got a great price for it with the discount and OBC.

The AC and the AE are both great cabins and (Terry will fight for the aft cabins as I always fight for the front cabins)but where does your cruise

take you??This could affect which cabin choice is better...Beside the AC

balconies are much larger than the AE's.........

You really cant go wrong either way with that itinerary, the wind wont

play a part on that cruise because you never really hit open water....We just like the fact that on the front you get the first view of the ship pulling into ports and is great for photo's....You will have fun either way

so enjoy your cruise!!!!

Thanks. This is our first cruise so I'm sure we will. Now we only have to wait another 85 days.
