Price of Atlantis Aquaventure on your own

Hi everyone! I'm looking to do the Aquaventure excursion with my family of four on our Feb.12 cruise on the Fascination. Since it is over President's Weekend, Atlantis wants a minimun of 3 nights stay, so forget that. Comfort Suites, with all the bogus charges, is wanting about $400. Now I also would have to add in round trip taxi and tip and food. Carnival Excursion to Aquaventure would be $577, but comes with transportation. Which would you pick?

I wouldn't go at all for either of those prices. You can do a nice 3 hour sail and snorkel for about $45 per person or just go to a beach and hang out. But keep checking prices at Comfort Suites...you never know if they might come down. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

$105 pp for the Aquaventure Day Pass. (a little less for kids) Transportation will cost you $4pp each way by cab.. (or $3pp each way by water taxi)

I agree with other poster....I'd do a snorkel excursion, enjoy the beach, see the historic sites (free walking tour) and enjoy the day.

 

Then I'd take the $200-$300 we saved and book a relaxing romantic weekend for my hubby and I once we get home. Kids can stay with Grandma.:D

I agree.. don't know what all the hoopla about.. Atlantis is just a waterpark.. and not a great one at that. $105pp is outrageous. US parks are less than 1/2 that.. and have a ton more rides.

Thanks for your replies. :) I agree, the prices are outrageous! My husband really wants to do this excursion again. We did it once before on a Disney cruise. I may just stick with the Comfort Suites and get a taxi back and forth from the ship. Thanks for your input everyone!!:)

For someone who has never been to Atlantis - but been to Nassau plenty of times - I think it is worth it for the kids to see.

 

Otherwise - they go to the beach everyday in Florida - -what would you do with 8, 9 and 14 year olds.

You can use the casinos, lobbies, shopping in the high end shops, marina village and view a small section of the Aquarium from the great hall of waters cafe. you can walk out the doors near the casino and view the grounds from just beyond the doorway. Beyond that, you will need a day pass to venture onto the grounds, see the pools, slides and beach. Security is everywhere on the grounds checking for the proper bracelets.

 

You will not be able to have lunch on the grounds or walk around the outdoor gardens and pools. (you can have lunch at the Marina village or murrays's deli)

 

If you want to go to the beach, there is a public beach just next to the RIU hotel.. which is the same beach used by Atlantis guests. (just down to the east about 200 meters.)

I totally disagree that Atlantis is just a water park and not a great one......

We have been going as Harborside owners since 2001 and our children/grandchildren find this their favorite vacation--over Disney in a minute.

If you are going with children a beach is a beach--OK so the water may be warmer but they get bored--and are you going to bring shovels.pails,beach toys when they restrict how many bags you can check on line now???

Take them to Atlantis and the many slides and water features will keep them occupied for the entire time you are there--the Baltimore Aquarium charges big bucks to get in so add that to the price of a water park and Atlantis is not so pricey after all!

For my family a day pass makes the most sense. DH and I will pay 105 a piece but by DD is 2 so she will be free. CS was wanting 280.00 for a room plus our cruise will not be there until 12:00 on that day so do not want to have to deal with CS. My question is this, should I have a problem on Jan. 22 receiving a day pass for DH and I? Thanks for the help.

I would doubt you will have a problem at that time--not a really busy time.

FYI--there are great little slides on the back side of the Mayan Temple and you will also find a great jungle gym pool area there also. Don't miss walking through the Dig--in the past they have had a free Dolphin show several afternoons a week so make sure you get a daily schedule when you arrive and see if there is one--also not to be missed is turtle/stingray feeding but if Beach Tower is still closed that may be also as it is up in that area.

Enjoy! We will be there 1/3-1/10 staying at Harborside--it is our a favorite trip for our grandchildren and first time for our then 14 month old--can't wait!

Thank you so much for the great tips for my DD. I will definitely check those places out because everything you mentioned she would love. We are a water park loving family, so I know we will have a blast!

We are considering a cruise that arrives Nassau 0700 and departs 1400. Am I safe to assume that this amount of time is too short for the water park? Is there such a thing as a 1/2 day pass?

Boy--that is a tough time frame--no half day passes--you might just take the water taxi over--$3 per person each way--plus $1 for the guide who gives a talking tour on the way--usually pretty informative with some local gossip about the stars! Then go to Marina Village-walk through Coral Tower through casino and to Royal Towers--take the stairs down and you can see the part of the aquarium that opens to the lower level restaurant--you could also walk out on the balcony to see the grounds.

An alternative is to go to Pirates museum downtown unless you want to see Atlantis.
