trock Posted November 8, 2008 #77 Share Posted November 8, 2008 Freedom of the Seas Hope prevailed over Freedom of the Seas Fear. LOL! But I think that the extreme provoking of 'fear' is equally as fraudelent as the extreme provoking of (false?) 'hope & change"... ;)

stewpapa Posted November 8, 2008 #79 Share Posted November 8, 2008 I agree that they are just changing with the times and being responsive to their customers. I doubt they are trying to help with less luggage, but they might. We always dress up on "formal" or "elegant" night, tux and all. We enjoy it. We may wear jeans or nice casual on other nights. There are always folks dressed down....way down, but many many take advantage of the chance to dress up. Who cares if someone else at the next table is in jeans. They paid as much as we did and are on vacation and should dress like they want. We dress up for our own enjoyment and don't care what others wear. We are all on vacation to have a good time. They shouldn't have dress code police harassing people at the door. I agree....."loosen the bone Wilma" is a great line!
babyher Posted November 8, 2008 #80 Share Posted November 8, 2008 I didn't like either one. I wanted to write in David Duke in the worst way. :p:D Wow and I thought my dad was hardline when he alternated between writing in George Wallace and Barry Goldwater :)

We like to dress up too, but it sure doesn't ruin my night (or day!) if the people sitting across, behind or in front of us aren't. Hubby thought "loosen the bone, Wilma!" was a good one, too. trock Posted November 9, 2008 #85 Share Posted November 9, 2008 Anything other than incompetent is an improvement and therefore hope. All I can say is I hope you are right!;):) because being naive can <equally>lead to becoming incompetent.... You will get no argument from me about the past 8 years... but one good point is there was only one 911... and not a sequel With that said... I wish our new President well and much success.. as our success depends on his!.. Its time we all stand together...

trock Posted November 9, 2008 #87 Share Posted November 9, 2008 Hmmm, Ahhhh, Brilliant!!!! Number 40 Two books that should be 'mandatory' reading in school Democracy in America and 1984 "Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word, equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude. " Alexis de Tocqueville "And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed—if all records told the same tale—then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.'" - George Orwell, 1984
