going to atlantis for the day

:) Hello everyone, was wondering if anybody has spent the day at atlantis. I read somewhere that you can rent a room at the Comfort Inn and that will give you access to Atlantis. There is about 21 of us going. If we can put 4-6 people per room and split the cost it would probably be cheaper then some of the excursion the ship has to offer. Now we would just rent the room for the day, would the hotel let you rent a room for a night
Thanks for any info.

I believe I read somewhere that this isn't the case anymore. In fact, friends of mine were on the Voyager of the Seas last week, and they are cruise newbies. The taxi driver talked them into going to Atlantis when they asked to just be taken to a nice beach. They questioned him whether or not they'd be allowed access to Atlantis' beach, and he assured them they could use the beach. Well, as soon as they entered the Atlantis, they were practically accosted and asked to see their room key. So if you don't have a room key specifically for Atlantis, I doubt that you can use their beach. They were pretty upset at the taxi driver, as they didn't really want to go to Atlantis in the first place, they just wanted a decent beach to hang out at.

Do NOT take an excursion nor bother with the Comfort Inn.

What you do is take a TAXI to the Atlantis (Water Taxi if you really want too...but i'd take a land taxi). There is a public access beach about .25 miles away...EASY walk. You will probably see a lot of people on their way there. I believe it is infront of a Sheraton hotel. However, you can then walk down the beach and use the Atlantis pool and stuff. We did that (just to use their bathrooms) and they didn't harrass us at all.

You can also walk into the lobby of the atlantis and check out the grounds, they dont care...espjecially if you want to see the casino.

If you book at the comfort suites you can book a max of 4 people per room/ no exceptions. They will check for you to be able to have access to the pools etc. You can go freely to Atlantis if you a a guest at either Atlantis or Comfort. If you go under ports of call under the Bahamas they have tons of info there
