We are sailing on the Gem out of NYC in Jan 09....can anyone tell me if you have noticed a major difference in service, food, activities etc with the newly (at least since a year ago) promoted 2.0 ...sounds good in the ads, but is it REALLY different???

 

Anyone have the main DR menus?? I want to plan when to go to Cagney's!!!!

 

Any info would be great!!!

Just got off the Spirit, the biggest difference was the bedding and the bubbly at embarkation as well as the robes in the balcony and above cabins. The menus were slightly changed, not much, the food was better than on the Star last year I thought, other than that not a whole bunch of changes.

We haven't been on the Gem or Spirit, but we saw a huge difference in the bedding after 2.0. Not just the linens, but the actual mattress as well.

This is my favorite 2.0 change. I normally don't sleep well when I cruise becuase of the bed but that sure changed when I was on the Dawn last month. It was a great change to sleep with no problems.

Thank you all for the FS2.0 info...sounds as though sleeping is a real treat!! That is great news, but I was hoping for the service and food to be much better...robes are a nice touch, tho!

I guess it depends on better than what? We found the food on the Jade in November to be good to very good and the service to be very good to excellent. Different strokes, I guess . . .

I agree with everyone else, the new beds are amazing! I like the buffet improvements also.

The bed in our mini on the Star was hard! But, the bed in the Courtyard Villa - bliss! And even a pillow menu.:p
