Statendam - Oct 26 - Leaving the Panama Canal

Krazy Kruizers

Recommended Posts

On our original itinerary we were supposed to begin our journey back through the canal at 9:30 AM. Our daily program listed the time of departure as 9 AM. We actually left at 10:46 AM. We discovered that all ships were delayed as this was one of those blasting days at the Gaillard Cut. Spent another day on the verandah watching all the sights. Even saw a crocodile.

Few activities were held the last couple of days as most people were more interested in the canal.

What a lovely day it sounds like you had.:) Did you notice any mosquitos while you were in Gatun Lake? What was the temp like? Thanks in advance for your answers.

Nothing more sublime but a day of sailing past fantastic scenery IMHO!

Yes there were some bugs in the canal. A HUGE one landed on me while we were standing at the rail. We have no idea what kind of bug it was - about 3 inches long. We had a couple of mosquitoes - the one that landed on my foot didn't live to tell his friends that he tried to bite a Yankee.

Touring Panama City we used our DEET.
