Legend of the Seas

My wife and I are celebrating our 25th Anniversary on the November 12/2005 sailing out of Tampa on the Legend of the Seas and taking along our children (ages 23, 20, & 15). We have booked cabins 6518 & 6520. Would appreciate ay thoughts on the ship, and the western caribbean itenary of the Caymans, Costa Maya, Belize & Cozumel. I understand its an older ship (by current standards), but from what I can see, it should still provide us a wonderful family experience. My wife and I have sailed only once before in 02/93 on the Princess Star and a southern Caribbean itenary so its high time. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Regards :)

We sailed the Legend Of the Seas this past May in Hawaii. The ship was very nice and well maintained. The rooms were of good size and I think we were on the same deck you are on but a bit closer toward the Photo Gallery. The only complaint I would have with the Legend was the quality of the food. Of course, chefs have probably been changed since then and before you go. We enjoyed breakfast and lunch in the dining room to avoid the crowds in the Lido. I have been to some of the Western Caribbean ports you are going but it has been some time. Just keep asking questions on this board. The people are very helpful. When we went to Belize they had just started doing cruises there so I am sure things are more built up by now. I understand it is great for diving there. You have a few months to go, so gather info regarding the ports and the ship from others on this board. Happy sailing.

We sailed LOS on Mex. Riviera cruise in Sept. this year and enjoyed the ship very much. Only complaint foodwise was the size of the portions at dinner - way too large when we were already stuffed from great food at breakfast and lunch.

The rock wall located aft should give your family a few memorable adventures through climbing and/or photo opts. If your family enjoys diving or snorkeling, Belize, Grand Cayman and Cozumel should afford you even more great memories. Don't miss an excursion to Stingray City in Grand Cayman. I'm terrified of water deeper than a bath tub but I had the most memorable excursion of my life there.

Congratulations on your silver wedding anniversary. Happy to hear the entire family will be there to enjoy it with you.

My family was on the Legend in late August. We had a fabulous time. The ship was really beautiful; a little wear and tear but nothing specific that I can remember. CD Tony Blair was quite funny. Windjammer can get quite crowded. Casino was much larger than I expected. "TV Tune Bingo" was quite funny. Rock climbing was real fun. Mini-golf was a bit beat up but functional.

We sailed the Legend last year for Christmas and had a very nice time. The ship was full of young people. This was a real plus for our 12 year old son. He had so much fun that we booked again this Christmas San Deigo to Florida. When he has sailed in the past with us the average age was about 67 and he has not had much luck finding anyone his age.The ship is very well kept. We had an Aft Balcony Cabin that was fantastic. We never closed the Sliding door the entire trip. Balcony was very large. The food was a bland adventure in dining. Nothing really Great Nothing really Bad. If you don"t expect much from the food you will love this cruise. My wife and I sailed Oceania in Jan just after our Legend cruise and found the Food to be fantastic. The price per day reflected this though.

Good Luck and let me know what you think!

PS The casino was very good to quite a few of us on our trip.

They don't seem to care about people who count cards.

The dealers were very happy and nice.

We were on legend 10/3/04 for a 14 day Panama Canal cruise. The ship and the staff were great. Looks like you have a great cabin location right near my favorite set of stairs. I used them, rather than the elevator the whole trip. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.
