For the Diamond Princess, forget about the Ocean terminal. It is far too large to enter the harbour. Best case scenario is docking at the container port and not tendered which happened for one day when it was there on the outward cruise.

:( Looking at the Ocean Terminal website there doesn't seem to be a booking for the Diamond at all throughout the year, and certainly not in April.

:) Only a matter of days until you leave. Look forward to your advice when you return. Hope you sorted out the Chinese visas. Did you end up getting a multiple? Wonder what the weather will be like now? It is still raining up here - the wettest April since 1988. Hope the weather is kind to you. What did you end up planning for Bangkok? Bon Voyage!!:D

Has the ship been there before??? Then ask on the Princess board where they might have been parked I would assume it would also be out at Kennedy Town too.

On our recent Diamond Princess cruise we berthed at the Hong Kong H.I.T dock a commercial port for the first day and caught a shuttle to Ocean Terminal, Kowloon. During the evening the ship moved over to Junk Bay where it anchored overnight and tender services to Hong Kong Island were available overnight and the following day.

Work on Kai Tak terminal has to go full speed ahead, say cruise operators.

Cruise operators and the tourism sector have called on the government to speed up work on the Kai Tak cruise terminal and implement interim measures so Hong Kong can cash in on an expected surge in mainland passengers.

Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Rita Lau Ng Wai- lan has vowed to improve Hong Kong's soft infrastructure and move full speed ahead on the project, at which the first berth is expected to open in 2013.

Beijing has announced plans to allow mainland tour groups to travel from here to Taiwan on Hong Kong-based cruises. A government spokesman said it is in talks with Beijing on when and how the policy will be implemented.
