proper shoes for climbing the falls?

Do you think Teva's would work? What did you have success with?

I haven't been to the falls, however, I am pretty active, including racing Jet ski's, sailing, canoeing, hiking, and a lot of water activities. Teva's are ok, however, to me, they seem to get pebbles between the shoes and my feet. Ouch!

So then I bought the Teva brand watershoes, not the sandles, and didn't like the way they fit and they were kinda goofy looking.

So I moved on to the Soloman Tech Amphibians. Best water shoes ever. They fit your foot perfect, lace up quite nicely, look sporty, and work in both water and dry land great! Both my Fiancee' and I have a pair. Highly recommended!

http://www.rockcreek.com/products/listing/item12635.asp is just an example of what they look like. I haven't priced them out so I don't know if this place is the cheapest.

Good Luck and have fun!

Great question! I was planning on wearing my Keen hiking sandals, picured here. http://www.zappos.com/n/multi_view.cgi?product_id=7128854&color_id=125161&view=multi&ref=multi-pic

Anyone know if they a good choice for DRF? I seem to remember reading that you can rent water shoes at the falls. Is that true and if so, is it a better option?

Thanks!

Tammy :)

We were there on 01/05/09. We brought aqua socks from home. I've seen some people went up bare foot, some wore old sneakers. You can rent aqua socks there. You'll be OK as long as they have none slippery sole. I woulndn't recommand you to climb bare foot. They have many loose graval and some got in our aqua socks. My DD collected them as souvenir.
