tour info

We've been to St. Thomas several times. The first time we took a Sunny Liston tour. It was on a Sunday and he had his family along. It was informative and fun. The next few times we went to St. Thomas, we took a cab to Meghan's Bay Beach. I've never heard of this tour company but since we are heading to St. Thomas yet again in May, I will be following your thread for information.

Your s/n is interesting. I'm from a long line of PGK's (Father, uncle, brother, husband and son). Are you a Knight?

Island Marketing is, from what it looks like from what I've read about them, is an excursion company offering packaged tours in the Caribbean. I first started seeing their ads for St Thomas last year. They contract with various taxi drivers (it looks like they only use Certified Tour Guides) for the transportation. They were one of the first ones (only?) ones to offer an escorted jet ski/snorkel tour. I don't remember seeing their ads lately, though.

The tour you asked about is the standard "2 hour" island tour for St Thomas, and usually costs about $25 per person, though some offer beaches other than Magens (Magens charges an entry fee, but has more facilities). Any driver at the dock will offer something similar. The advantage of waiting until you get to St Thomas to find a tour is you get to talk to the drivers before hand so you can see how well you understand their accent, and find out what specifically your tour will include. Only licensed drivers who belong to a taxi association are allowed to pick up at the cruise docks.

Hope this helps.

Will do KofC! My 18 year old just took his third. We are from Central NJ, where are you from?

I'm from Cincinnati OH, but I'm currently away at college in Cambridge, MA. I'm sure being from NJ you understand how difficult it is for a good Catholic to be in New England. I'm currently a 2nd degree but am hoping to get my 3rd and 4th soon.
