Rare Auntiejo Posted February 2, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2009 Does anyone have a suggestion on a good place to buy a few bottles of good wine in Barcelona before getting on our ship? I like to have 3-4 bottles to consume on the balcony while watching the sunset! Thanks.
Rare cruisemom42 Posted February 2, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 2, 2009 If you are staying on Las Ramblas, you can buy wine at the Boqueria. IIRC, the place we bought wine was along the far right-hand side after entering. El Corte Ingles (the department store at Placa Catalunya) has a food court where you can buy wine and delicacies, but I found it to be much more expensive. CathyCruises Posted February 3, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2009 If worse comes to terrible, you can buy it right inside the cruise terminal as well. Also, if you board with your 2 bottles, and then leave the ship and go back into town for a while before sailing, it's a great stop for stocking up once again. . .;) Also thx for the tip, Cruisemom. I missed the wine for sale at La Boqueria--too absorbed looking at all the delicious food! Cathy

English_in_Spain Posted February 7, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2009 Do they sell wines from the Napa Valley there? Was that meant to be a joke?
elvisbuff Posted February 8, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Was that meant to be a joke? uhhhh, no-I have never been out of the US so wouldn't know about what kind of wine would be available in Spain. I am more familiar with wines from the Napa Valley and live in the San Francisco bay area
Rare cruisemom42 Posted February 8, 2009 #7 Share Posted February 8, 2009 I doubt you will find Napa wines. Spain has an excellent wine industry and some very good prices on quality wine.
