The following are the major resturants:

Four Seasons Main Restaurant - free

Ginza Japanese Restaurant - fee

Il Adagio Restaurant -fee

Le Bistro -fee

Seven Seas Dining Room - free

East Meets West - fee

Pacific Heights Healthy Dining - free

The best is always subjective - for me The Bistro.

Here is a link to NCL overviews of the resturants

As to which restuarant is the best, is very subjective. A LOT of folks rave about Le Bistro. It has a cover charge and it is worth every penny. If there is a "must try" it would be Le Bistro. Though I didn't eat there this past cruise, I personally liked "East Meets West" very much.

The Sun has all sorts of activities to keep you busy on sea days. The casino is open. The Stardust Lounge has bingo. The shops are all open. You can take computer classes, participate in ship-sponsored game shows, etc. Or you can just park yourself out on a lounge chair & book and relax. We preferred the lounge chair & book routine. This is why I didn't pay much attention to other activities. There is a daily newsletter delivered to your door called the "Freestyle Daily" that lists all the day's activities and trust me, there were plenty of them. ;)

This was the first cruise I went on with my husband. He was hesitant to going on one because he was afraid he'd be bored. He wasn't. ;)

Opinions vary, but for my money, Il Adagio is the best. Not necessarily the best food, but it has to have the best view and intamacy of any restaurant anywhere. We have been on Sun twice and have tried all of the dining venues... in our opinion we thought that Il Adagio was heads and shoulders above the rest. Although, I have nothing bad to say about any of them.

We just got off of the Sun and am sitting here wishing we could go again. The question of restaurants is one that I asked before we went nad everyone said the Bistro was the best and it was good but in all honesty the Seven Seas (free) had absolutely impeccable service and great food. I would say to check the menu each day and then decide if you like anything they are serving. This is going to sound terrible but you have to try their cold soups. I KNOW sounds awful but just try them they are free anyway and you will love them especially the banana/mago soup. TRY it anyway. Also the Tempanyaki (sp) you can find it, reserve a seat at the table even if you have done this before it was really nice and again the service was superb. Try the Sena wine - great offer with 2 glasses. Anytime you ask an opinion of restarants you will get a variety of responses. We did hear people at the next table complaining about close to everything when we saw everything as perfect. Is the glass 1/2 full or 1/2 empty. We went into this cruise with high expectations as it was an anniversary cruise for us and we found that the entire staff, food, excursions, everthing surpassed what we expected. I honestly do not know what they could have done to make our cruise any better.

Ditto on the cold soup posting. I think that's what my daughter misses most about cruising. We took her to Alaska in June, and that was her favorite part of the meal.

We also agree on the Seven Seas restaurant -- we never did try any of the specialty restaurants, but were very satisifed with the food and the service in the Seven Seas.

Just off the Sun....as for the resturants we loved the Le Bistro, great food, as well as service. Have to agree, the cover charge is well worth every penny. Be for warned they like to play little jokes.... Most nights we ate in the Four Seasons....again, great food and service. The cold soups were to die for. My favorite was blueberry kiwi.... Sea days we spend our time at the pool relaxing, evenings were spent in the shows. We had a wonderful week, met some great people, perhaps on a future cruise they will all be there.

The crew staff were friendly, the CD Colin Kerr was the best, he helped make my granddaughters first cruise special, along with someone she met on board. :)...What a thrill it was to watch her ease into the life of cruising, she is looking forward to her next one...

We will have more of a review later, just got home yesterday 11/20, with washing up to my ears. Still trying to get in the daily routine here...Any question just ask, I'm sure several of us have somegreat answers for you.

Hi Fran --

Glad to hear you had a good time. I didn't realize Colin was back on the Sun, last I had heard he had left the Sun to go to another ship, and then was on vacation. He was a wonderful CD -- my family listened to his disembarkation speech about 8 times while waiting to leave the ship. He is hilarious!

Drop me a note when you get things settled.

Hi Susan

Wonderfult time...I'll be sending you something tomorrow...Colin is filling in for Linda Minniken (sp) she is on vacation. I have seen her many times, but Colin is much better. He is so funny. Had my granddaughter in stitches all the time. Wait until I send you the pic of her with him and tell you what he did for her.

I agree with most of this, although I think that Le Bistro is actually a closer runner-up.

I haven't myself been terribly impressed with East Meets West. It suggests that it's a fusion-type restaurant, but in reality it just does a collection of dishes from around the world. That's not fusion food, in my view, and so it was a bit disappointing.

Ginza teppanyaki is not really worth doing unless you get to sit up at the grill. If they're fully booked at the grill on a day that you want to go, I'd recommend deferring it until another day when you can sit at the grill, where it's much more fun. The food isn't really good enough to be worth going to this restaurant if you sit at an ordinary table to be served in the conventional way - you'd be better off going to a different specialty restaurant.

It is worth dropping into Las Ramblas for tapas at some stage, although I think that some re-thinking about this concept is probably needed. You can't really make a decent meal out of tapas, even though you can eat enough to fill you up. But it's only open from 1730-2230 every evening, so if you do drop in for some tapas and a drink, it tends to ruin your appetite for dinner.

There are more details about my Sun cruise in the links in my signature.

Il Adagio was our favourite but we also ate most times in Seven Seas. Couldn't fault the service or the food so why pay extra. Review posted but not up yet for our 11/06 trip. Hope you all find it useful!
