msmillie Posted February 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2009 For many years - Time Share Sales, Living Will and Trust Lawyers, and Investment Representatives have used invitations to seminars in restaurants and hotels for lunch or dinner to make you aware of their services. Today, a Regent invitation to the Paul Gauguin 2009 Celebrations, "an exclusive travel event" came in the mail from Mark Conroy. It stated, "This special event will celebrate the m/s Paul Gauguin's 12 years of continuous luxury service in French Polynesia," and this year's event provides "travel offers that are unsurpassed in value and enrichment." This invitation included five hotel locations and dates for the events. I haven't seen similar Regent marketing approach in recent years in this area and wondered if similar marketing approaches are being used in other areas. Is this approach new or have you experienced similar advertising through Regent?

Is this approach new or have you experienced similar advertising through Regent? I guess Regent market themselves all over the globe, as all other companies do. As Regent cruisers from downunder , we have been offerred special segments on Mariners Ring of Fire .
tombo Posted February 20, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2009 Regent hosted a cocktail party earlier this month at its Fort Lauderdale offices in conjunction with selected travel agents who invited their clients. It seems unlikely that Regent would be doing a special promotion for the PG since that ship will be leaving the fleet at the end of the year. San Jose King Posted February 20, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2009 We received the same invitation yesterday. We have also received many direct mailings with regard to booking the PG for a 2009 sailing. What's interesting is that the PG will not be part of the Regent family in 2010 and that they are expending an extraordinary effort to fill the ship this year. sable1 Posted February 20, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2009 We also received the invitation, but I wasn't sure if it was promoting the P.G only. Do you think they will offer special incentives for other itineraries/ships? Joanne
Wendy The Wanderer Posted February 20, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2009 I would presume that they are using the PG anniversary date to plug the rest of their fleet. Other than filling the ship, can't see why they would be marketing the PG very aggressively. I know the PG has addicts, and they probably want to try to hook them.
