Cruiser Crystal Posted March 2, 2009 #26 Share Posted March 2, 2009 ABSOLUTELY NOT, just not worth it for me.......... Hopefully, the cruise lines don't start to nickel and dime everything!!!!!!!!!!!
retiredonthesea Posted March 2, 2009 #27 Share Posted March 2, 2009 Nothing from me! I usally get enough sun just from laying on my balcony lounger--very seldom use the pool side loungers. I try to find a nice quiet place to enjoy the sun and read a good book.
DisneyCruiser83 Posted March 3, 2009 #28 Share Posted March 3, 2009 I would not pay, but I don't really use them anyway. If cruise lines do start to charge, I think there should be an area that remains free for guests that choose not to pay.
willamanthea Posted March 3, 2009 #29 Share Posted March 3, 2009 I'D JUST USE ONE SOMEONE ELSE WAS PAYING FOR WHEN THEY GO AWAY. . . . OR SOMEONE OES ELSE WOULD USE MINE IF i PAID FOR ONE, I can see it now those little coin deposit boxes beside each seat, with a little buzzer to call for drink service or a spritzer. Geeeezzzzzzzz
Bibi Posted March 3, 2009 Author #30 Share Posted March 3, 2009 But seriously folks.....if you really like the deck chairs in premium spots, why not pay a couple of bucks for the peace of mind that when you want it , it will be waiting for you? If you don't care where you sit, then don't pay for one and take what is available. If you don't use them at all, then it wouldnt affect you. But if you are like me and like to have a lounge chair in the sun (out of the cold Canadian winter), in a spot where you can watch the fun, then, in the grand scheme of things, a few dollars for your very own chair is worth it. To me anyway.
nitnyleo Posted March 3, 2009 #31 Share Posted March 3, 2009 I couldn't decide on an answer . . . I would gladly pay $10, if the ship would give me a $10 refund on the theater seat for the "entertainment" (that I never occupy).
RetireeWannabee Posted March 3, 2009 #32 Share Posted March 3, 2009 no way. maybe it's because I spent my childhood as a competitive swimmer, but I don't get what the attraction is to sitting by the pool versus THE OCEAN! Pay for a lounge chair? not a chance. I would sooner cop a squat right on deck.
TheVegasMan Posted March 3, 2009 #33 Share Posted March 3, 2009 When they start charging for chairs, I'll bring my own. Until then it stays in the garage with the camping equipment.
Rare printingchick Posted March 3, 2009 #34 Share Posted March 3, 2009 Please, do offer up any ideas to the cruise lines!! RCCL is already reserving chairs in prime locations for their SUITE guests only. They rope them off. So yes, there ARE people indirectly PAYING for lounge chairs. Most of us cruise becuase it's a great value for the money. I understand the cut-backs driven by these hard economic times. However, if we have to start paying for things like the use of the chairs, well...so much for the good value!!
RetireeWannabee Posted March 4, 2009 #35 Share Posted March 4, 2009 Whoa, did not know that bit about RCCL "suite guest seating"!!! That will probably end when they become chair hogs in their little "elite seating section."
grand isle joe Posted March 4, 2009 #36 Share Posted March 4, 2009 I would pay alot to throw off the ship all those chair hogs...
