Hello everyone!

I just found out yesterday that RCI is changing ports from Grand Cayman to Key West and our cruise leaves on 12/4! I have a group going and am in charge of the excursions so needless to say I need some help! Just now starting to research our port options and would love your imput as to what we shouldn't miss on our 1st trip to Key West. We will be in port 7am - 2pm and thought we should do the Conch Train and see the Hemingway House. Is this something we can do in our time frame? We are all adults and enjoy casual fun, drinking, eating and sightseeing.

Thanks everyone I truly appreciate your insight!!

You are on the right track. I would first take the Conch Train Tour as it gives you a great overview of the whole island and lasts 90 min.

While on the train you will see particular spots that you will want to go back and see individually, like the Hemingway House, Butterfly Conservatory, Truman's Little White House, etc.

Have a great visit

Mike :D :D

You might consider doing the trolley (instead of the Conch train). With the trolley, you will be able to get off and explore, and then catch the next trolley (I think they come every 20-30 minutes). With the Conch, you get a great overview of the area, but aren't able to get on and off. The trolley is an affordable way of being able to see and explore many of the attractions Key West has to offer. But, if you only want to drive by the places, then the Conch train may be the ticket. They both cover about the same ground...

Here's the trolley site (I don't have the Conch train site-but I seem to remember seeing the train while we were on the trolley). I think the only differences is the on-off issue. Also, if it's raining, the trolley is enclosed, where the conch train wasn't. It had a cover, but the trolley is a trolley...with windows and all.

Whaever you end up doing, you have a good amount of time to do it in. I think the 7-2 timeframe is ideal for being in Key West. Have fun! :)
