Gold Globe Pendant

Hi everyone,

While surfing the boards after booking our Maasdam Holiday '08 cruise, I came upon a post describing a gold globe pendant that could have small gems inlaid representing destinations visited.

The first day I boarded the Maasdam I went to the shops and found an empty case with a sign stating "sold out". The staff had no idea if and when they would become available. For the life of me I can't remember the name of the designer, and now searching through the boards I can't find the post.

Does anyone know anything about these pieces or where I can get info on them? I don't know if they're HA specific, or available on other lines. I was on a Carnival cruise last month and they had no idea what I was talking about. I've tried googling to no avail. Any help would be appreciated!

(I posted this on the Holland America board originally, and someone suggested checking out this board.) :)

in the 70's!..cost was $$$$$$ to a young traveler. Glad to see it for market now.It would have to be sooo big now, never knowing I'd travel so much over all. as I've been so many places in my life n times... Most likely they want you to call. DH n I plan a trip to Seattle. I havent seen it in the market anywhere. guess you get your first stones, then it is like add-a-pearl..sending it each time. One from coloum A, one from column B, etc Thanx to the OP..you rock

Her is the reply I got from my e-mail to Le Monde requesting the price of the Large and Medium size Globe pendants, 14ct Gold.

"Our LOP which means Large Oval Pendant and the MOP which is our Medium Oval Pendant...the globes are not round they are oval shape the back side is also Oval not flat..We make these into Slides (so that they could fit on to your chain) and not have a bail.to go though) the same price...the LOP cost sells for $855 and the MOP for $657..." etc.etc.

Hope that helps. I'm sure the deluxe ones wld be alot more. Of course that wld be US$, therefore, I'd have to add at least another 20cents + to the $, which wld make it a bit steep !!!

I have one that is not flat like that but an actual 18k solid gold globe just a little smaller than a golf ball. It was bought many years ago at H. Stern in Argentina. There's a Stern in St. Thomas. Back then it was a very expensive piece of jewelry. You have a diamond set into the globe into every country of the world you've been to.
