librarylady19 Posted March 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2009 This article appeared in today's Chicago Tribune. I'm sure most of these tips are well known to seasoned cruisers but I picked up some advice. http://www.chicagotribune.com/travel/chi-trav-cruise-bleecker-0329mar29,0,3742676.story
hajekfam Posted March 29, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 29, 2009 I read it this morning and I really had to wonder who wrote it and how much cruise experience they had - especially when I read the part about getting your room steward to bring you some lunch or going to the buffet to get some lunch that you bring ashore. There are many countries who do not allow you to bring food off the ship unless it is packaged. Is it worth risking a fine to save a couple of bucks? Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted March 30, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2009 Right, I wondered the same thing. The fines can be quite substantial. Didn't see any really useful advice in there, like bring a power strip, which I have picked up over the years on CruiseCritic. I think they just make this stuff up to fill space.
