Majesty 3-30-4-3, 2009!!

Recommended Posts

Just got back. Here are some short highlights and a few minor lowlights

Highlights-

Boarding--On the ship about 11:30 eating

Room--Deck 2 Interior(2527 and 2529 for kids) small but clean and nice. Got into room about 12:45 and luggage was there about 3 PM or so.

Food--Good variety, steak offered every night on menu. Good variety on the menu every night. Waiter was Willie from Phillipines and Jespon from India. Very good service. My DD 12 years old loved the service. Every night we were offered to bring us more appet./main entrees/desserts. Had a table for 10. 9 of us in our group but only 1 night were we all together.

Teen Lounge--My DS 15 years old went there every night and made lots of friends. Did not see him or his friend most of the time onboard.

Overall--Just a great time, great weather.

Leaving on final day--We were called first. On deck 2 I thought we would be last. We were off the ship by about 8:15 with no waits.

Casino--good variety of slots and table games. Wish the poker tournament would only be 50 not $90. That kept me from playing as I did not want to spend that much.

Nassau--Cool to see for the first time. Took a taxi around the island. $17 p/p. Highly recommended if you have older kids. Takes you through the poverty stricken parts of town as well as the good parts and tour the Atlantis. About 2 hours. Gives you and kids a good perspective on how well we have it.

Coco Cay--Beautiful. Just like last year. Very relaxing.

Key West--Rented one of those electric cars for 3 hours. $90 total but a good way to see the city.

Lowlights-

Shows--Had a black entertainer(cant remember name) who was singing impressions. Yawn. He even got into thanking God, how he worked with underprivileged youth, etc. That is ok to get into if you are preaching but found it strange doing this on a cruise ship. Just seemed to be patting himself on the back. The 70's disco was ok. The comedian was really good.

Head Waiter--Only came to our table 2 of the 4 nights. First night he asked if my DD needed help cutting steak and she said no. He then left. Other night he came over and said, "how is everything?" Everything was good but before we could answer he left. No interaction really at all with him. I tipped everyone what was recommended except him I tipped a bit less.

Bartender in Schooner Bar--Our friend ordered a diet coke from the schooner bar. She had a soda pass. Bartender rang it up as a soda package. She told him that she just needed a soda and showed him the sticker for the second time. He basically scolded her/yelled at her for ordering a soda package and not wanting it. I almost got in his face but then realized that I was on vacation and it was not my wife getting yelled at. My wife and I did think he was out of line.

Other than that, that is the very minor low lights of the trip.

Can't believe it is over. Any questions? I hope to do a more in depth review but realistically will be too lazy to finish it. :)

Is Jimmy the CD?

Ricky Matthews was the CD. We had Paul Rudder(guy from the cash for gold commercials) last year on the Enchantment. Paul was around the ship more often but Ricky Matthews was more entertaining on stage. He is pretty good.
