Cruising the Ruby next week with kids

We will be on the Ruby next Saturday with our two children 9 and 11. Is there anything on the ship or in port (entertainment, crafts, food etc.) that we should make a point to do or see with them that may not be obvious? This is our first Princess cruise and the kids first week long cruise. I'm sure they will be spending some time at the kids' club and we have excursions in Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman. We want it to be relaxing for us, but want them to have a great time too. Thanks:)

They will have a great time. We have not sailed on the Ruby, but everything on the ship is prettty exciting at that age - or any age IMHO!

There are lots of things for the kids to do. programs should be in full swing with spring break and many kids onboard.

There are craft programs. You will all love the Ruby, she is a beautiful ship.

Just watch the Patter for choices.

Be sure to sign the children up at the kids club the first evening. That is the best opportunity to start making new friends, become acquainted with the facilities and the staff, and to learn about the activities.

Movies Under the Stars is a big hit with kids, although it's hard to miss!! Also, there is a ceramics studio near the Neptune Pool, they might enjoy making something that they can also take home as a souvenir. You will find free ice cream (not widely publicized) every afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30 in the side of the Horizon Court not serving food. There is a paid ice cream stand near the pizzeria, but a better bet is the gelato (very authentic and delicious) available at the International Cafe in the atrium for I think $1.50 for 3 scoops.The International Cafe also has lots of wonderful free treats --- breakfast donuts and pastries, warm cookies, sandwiches, etc. Keep an eye on the entertainment schedule for the Piazza (atrium) also --- they often have jugglers or magicians, very kid friendly. That should give you some ideas.
