question about carnival ticket contract

I am reading through the ticket contract before I book my cruise. I want to make sure I understand it fully and I have come across something I don't quite understand. Can anyone clarify for me?

 

 

b) No tools of trade, household goods, presents and/or property of others, jewelry, money, cameras, documents, valuables of any description including but not limited to such articles as are described in Title 46 of the United States Code section 30503 shall be carried except under and subject to the terms of a special written contract or Bill of Lading entered into with Carnival prior to embarkation upon application of the Guest.

 

 

I know it can't mean you can't bring such items, because everyone brings a camera and I'm sure Carnival doesn't want you to leave all your money behind. :p

It merely means not for someone else (other than accompaning family members) for resale, or hand over to someone at a port for money or illegal reasons.

That paragraph means that you are not allowed to use Carnival as your "shipping agent" for these items. Later on the contract points out that Carnival isn't responsible for loss/damage to your personal items cameras, computers, etc., etc.

 

You're one of the few that actually reads the Cruise contract! There's some interesting tidbit buried there!!!!
