SaySumthing Posted May 6, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2009 You should post this in the roll call for the trip. Someone from your cruise is much more likely to see the offer. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=853859
katie1 Posted May 20, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2009 Thee are 4 in our group. We thought of taking a taxi to Edinburough Castle but your trip sounds great too. Might be interested. We are also wanting info on renting a car for some of the other ports to see the countryside mentioned in the itinerary of NCL's excursions. zimmerjulie Posted May 20, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 20, 2009 Sounds wonderful. Wish I were going, but I'm not:(. "The Lake of Mentieth Scotland's only Lake" I was thinking about this and trying to figure out how it could be "true", as there are many lakes in Scotland (approx. 130?), including perhaps the most famous lake in the world, Loch Ness. There must be some qualifications on the above claim. To me, a lake by any other name is still a lake:). That being said, I would still love to go to the Lake of Mentieth! I saw this itinerary and REALLY wanted to go and take my grandmother, who lived in Scotland for a few years in the 1950's. jhorn, have a wonderful time!!! I know you will! jocap Posted May 20, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 20, 2009 ;)All the other stretches of water are called lochs, forths, tarns or meres. It's the same where I live, in the Lake District-the most famous stretch is Winder-mere; my nearest lake is Wastwater. Some are old Gallic names, some Celtic and some Viking-jocap. Traveler Ken Posted May 22, 2009 #6 Share Posted May 22, 2009 My group of four will be on that cruise. What is the URL of the site offering the Braveheart tour? I gather from your note that the company's maximum is 6 folks. BTY, the pound is worth about US$1.51. Ken Anybody interested in a private tour in Edinburgh?
