leeuwarden Posted May 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2009 has anyone ask to be upgraded when arriving? And how does one go about that? Will they charge the full difference or a discount?
Krazy Kruizers Posted May 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2009 Once at the pier you can ask if there are any cabins available -- more than likely they will tell you to enquire once at the front desk once you are on the ship. There are no discounts on embarkation day -- they charge the difference between what you have paid and what the cost is of the category available. DFD1 Posted May 15, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 15, 2009 In the past, I have often seen small signs posted in the embarkation area indicating the cruise was sailing full and no cabin changes were available. However, the economy being what it is now, that may no longer be the case. Will not hurt to give it a try.
Skeezics Posted May 15, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2009 Check-in personnel do not have the authority or ability to upgrade passengers (Computers are programed to only do the check in procedure). You will need to ask once you are on board the ship. Best advice is to select the cabin you wish when booking your cruise. Also be ready to pay the difference between your original cabin and the upgrade.
