moxiemom72 Posted May 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2009 We got our 3 yr old one of those mexican ukulele's from a port. You know, the small guitars they string with fishing wire that are bright and colorful? If we would have known better, we should have got 2 or 3 because he LOVES it and hasnt put it down for a month! He just broke it in half after falling on top of it and is so upset. He literally has this in his hands every day practically all day. (Wondering what kind of paint and sealant is used since he handles it so much, actually) Does anyone know where I can get another one besides waiting a year for our next cruise? My little guy is beside himself and so upset every time the tape comes undone and his guitar breaks again.
Aplmac Posted May 22, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 22, 2009 Poor lil fella. Look in your Yellow Pages under Musical Instruments and/or Music Supply stores. There's going to be someone in your region who repairs those things. Guitars and uke's get broken all the time, and there are people around who fix them. Yes. ;) Just start asking around at musical instrument stores that handle repairs. When you locate this skilled person, just explain to him that it doesn't have to be a 'real' fix to return the uke to original playable condition (unless the kid is already holding bar-chords?) Get him to just get it together so it doesn't break in two again (and his little heart!) -until your next cruise --when this time you will buy two of them
