Whats the latest time you can stay on board on disembarkation

Recommended Posts

Although the specific time may vary, this is a rule you will find pretty much everywhere. It has to do with fears of folks checking luggage in advance and then not getting on the airplane. They don't want to make it easy for people to leave luggage at the airport and then go off and miss the plane. I know that even two hours [or 10 minutes for that matter] gives you time to leave, but if anyone does put luggage on the plane and then not show, they are supposed to check that luggage and get it off before letting the plane fly. The 2 hour rule merely makes it less likely that it will hapen unintentionally [i.e. drop your bags, leave the airport, get delayed while touring & miss the plane].

Sorry to intrude on your thread Mike, but a follow up question if I might.

We are flying from LAX to LAS with a 1400 flight and are taking the RCI transfer (without any excursion). What time are we likely to disembark the ship under those circumstances?

Thank you

Our flight was scheduled to leave Fort Lauderdale at 15:45 - so we had plenty of time to kill. Fortunately we were able to check our luggage directly from our ship - and they sent it on to the airport and to the airline - so that saved us a major headache! They also checked us in and provided us with our boarding passes the night before! :)

We stayed on our ship until 10:00am and then took a taxi to Las Olas for ~$25 from the ship. We walked around and did some shopping. Then had lunch at one of the hotels (near the Cheese Cake factory) at one of the sidewalk tables. Perfect way to kill a few hours! Then caught a cab to the airport (~$20) and made it there in plenty of time for our flight.
