Bermuda anyone?

Going to Bermuda next spring. Just wondering what we should be sure to see. Any suggestions?

A horse and carriage ride is a really nice way to see the island. Also, I can't remember the name, but somewhere on the island is a restaurant that is inside a large cave. Really unique!

We were looking for a private taxi tour of the island. We got off the ship and found a great taxi driver who took us all around, brought us back to the ship for lunch and picked us up after lunch when we toured around some more. We just asked him to take us to the places he thought we should see. I don't remember what we paid but it was very reasonable and one of the best tours we've had! We agreed on the price before the tour started but I remember we gave him more because it was such a great tour.

The Maritime Museum at Dockside - you'll be docked (no pun intended) right there.

 

Purchase pass for the bus/ferry system. (One to three days depending on how long you're in port.)

 

We love St. George's, so...Take the ferry to St. George's. When in St. George's:

 

* Visit the St. George Historical Society center where you can get lots of info on a self guided walking tour of St. George.

 

* Visit the Tucker House museum

 

* Visit the Civil War Museum (yes, the U.S. Civil war - there was quite a Bermuca connection)

 

* Stop in at St. Peters Church - the oldest Anglican church in Bermuda

 

* Visit Fort St. Catherines

 

* Have lunch at the White Horse Tavern

 

With the exception of Fort St. Catherins, everything is within easy walking distance of the ferry pier. You can catch the bus to the fort, and then get the bus back to Hamilton where there are nice shops and a couple of museums.

 

Bermudians are very friendly and helpful, so be sure to stop at the visitors center for maps and information.

 

Bermuda is our favorite island so enjoy!:)
