bellasdesk Posted June 21, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2009 Hi...Does Carninval offer really good deals for booking future cruises once on board? Just wondering if I should try to set some money aside for that. Friends have told me that other cruise lines offer deals that are hard to refuse. If anyone has any experience, it would be greatly appreciated! First Cruise....hopefully the first of many more!
lookslikdi Posted June 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2009 Last April, I booked a Future Cruise for Oct 2009. The only deal we received was a $100 OBC. I also received a $50 off for a Welcome Back Credit because I booked another cruise within 60 days from my last cruise. I asked for that credit. The booking desk did not mentioned it. The Wecome Back Credit I heard will go away in Aug if it has not already. The Future Cruise Desk is only on certain Conquest class ships. Not all ships offer that perk. I see that you are from Colorado. You will feel at home when you watch TV. Most the ship's TV stations are from Denver
angelkisses Posted June 21, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 21, 2009 Available on Carnival Liberty, Valor, Freedom, and Splendor. Guests will be able to choose the ship and sail date of their next cruise, or they may purchase a certificate that will allow them to decide the ship and sail date at a later time. The guest will have up to 5 years to book their next vacation with the certificate to receive the offer. Guest will receive an On Board Credit up to $200 per stateroom on their next cruise. The On Board Credit can be used in conjunction with any other promotion excluding military, interline, friends & family, travel agent and employee reduced rate travel. Guests who book an actual sailing will receive 2 Friends and Family vouchers with the purchase of their future cruise onboard. These vouchers allow the guest to invite 2 friends or family members to receive the same On Board Credit if the friends and family join them on their cruise. The friends or family have 60 days from the voucher issue date to book their next cruise.

It bears repeating the words "up to" as sometimes folks think they will get $200 on a 7 day cruise or whatever, Its $50 OBC for a 5 day, $75 for a 6 day, $100 for a 7 day etc. The friends and family vouchers are like the ones RCL issues, have to be used if friends or family book the same cruise as you book, they get the same OBC you are getting. Crusin6 Posted June 22, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 22, 2009 DCL offerred 20 percent off your next cruise...never saw that good of a deal from Carnival. I don't care for the idea of buying certificates....I want an upfront discount.

We all want a even cheaper deal, but Carnival is already so rock bottom they cut the dividend this year.

While DCL is more expensive the one thing that it has going for it, thus the higher prices is...no casino. Unfortunately the pools are small but the entertainment is superior. I still do not care for any of the deals that Carnival has offerred onboard.
