New Port - Gotenborg

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any information about this city in Sweden? What I can find looks fine, but RCI doesn't have anything on their website. Help with this will be appreciated.

Hello.

My suggestion is to go by "Paddanboats".

It is a sightseeingtour for one hour around Gothenburg at water under a lot of bridges.

You also have the amusementpark "Liseberg"

and the "Universeum" the biggest Science center in Scandinavia.

I think it'll be interesting, especially since it looks LEAST set up for foreign travelers! Volvos are manufactured not to far away, too... though my husband and I were more interested in seeing if we could check out the music scene. During the day. Probably mid-week. Ha!!!

Thank you so much. I wasn't sure anyone had gone there. I guess I misspelled it. From what I see now it is Goteborg. Sorry. Thanks for your info. Love CC.

In english, the town is called Gothenburg.

In Swedish, the town is called Göteborg.

If it is rainy, the Art Museum (Konstmuseum) and the Decorativer Arts Museum (Rohsska)are great, and located near one another on or near near Avenyn, the main boulevard in the center of town with many shops and cafes.

We will be there next month on MSC Lirica. Ironically our dentist went to school in Goteborg and was SO excited we would be visiting. She made us promise to eat some cold, peel-and-eat shrimp for her while we are there. Apparently this is a local specialty. She told us to make our way to the Poseidon statue and find a cafe where we can just sit and watch people go by as we eat the shrimp fresh off the boat.

We will have our four year old with us. As much as she loves shrimp I am also hoping to find some other activities for her ;). We will be there only 5 hours (3-8 pm) so I don't think the amusement park will work. Any other kid friendly suggestions? Thanks.
