latterdayesther Posted July 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2009 My TA advised me that my Baja stateroom B706 is covered-that is not looked down upon by the decks above. Berlitz' guidebook states: "Cabins with balconies on Baja, Caribe, and Dolphin decks are also overlooked by passengers on balconies on the deck above;they are, therefore, not at all private." Who is right? latterdayesther
dbail4 Posted July 20, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2009 I read the same thing in Berlitz and on this website's review. I am trying to book on the Aloha deck....
Pia1913 Posted July 20, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2009 Baja is covered, Caribe is 1/2 covered 1/2 uncovered and Dolphin is uncovered.
Schplinky Posted July 20, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2009 The Berlitz book is wrong a lot. I would not count on it; he seems to sail one ship in a class and then say that the same issues exist across sips he hasn't sailed. Most notably, he recently complained about the dining room seats on a Celebrity ship that wasn't even built yet. He was basing his comments, it seems, on the artistic renderings online. latterdayesther Posted July 20, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted July 20, 2009 Thanks, Pia! 'Think I'll call Princess and tell them I want to stay where I am! :D latterdayesther
carmensmom Posted July 20, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 20, 2009 We had B710 on the Sapphire last year and it is covered. You overlook those below you, but cannot be seen from above.
nzggator Posted July 21, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 21, 2009 we booked our cabin on lido for this reason. (on sapphire) Figured it was as high as you go so no worries. A friend showed us a picture of balconys below lido and you can see the overlook pretty well.

navybankerteacher Posted July 22, 2009 #9 Share Posted July 22, 2009 I booked B-431 on Baja (Nov 14 sailing) after receiving specific confirmation from Princess' booking agent that balconies are fully covered --she acknowledged that a number of passengers have expressed disappointment with their experience on other decks where people above look down on them -- occasionally dropping cigarette butts, etc.
