New passport actual timeframe

It took our passports about 3 1/2 weeks and we got them on Friday!!!!

 

I kept checking the state dept website for the status, but they didn't log it in (despite the fact that the confirmation from usps said they had been received), then all of a sudden, I got an e-mail from the state dept saying they were being sent due to be received on 8/25 but arrived on 8/21 instead!!:)

Three weeks exactly for us!! We received the email as well that we would have the passport by 8/25 and we received them yesterday. I received one of my pictures back as well and thought that odd. It was in the envelope with my birth and marriage certificates. I actually almost threw it in the recycling. If fell out when ripping the envelope in half to put in the recycling!! My daughter actually mailed hers on this monday and the office already has them and her checks were cashed!!

my husband and i went down to the local post office and applied for passport books. he got his in 6 days...and i got mine in eight. I was amazed!!

I didn't pay attention to where anyone lived, but I am in NY and it took mine 29 days from day 1 (june of this year) and I applied at the P.O. Hope that helps!
